Benjamin A. O'Neil practices in the areas of complex civil litigation with an emphasis on securities law, as well as white-collar criminal defense and regulatory proceedings in the financial services sector.
Recent Engagements:
- Representation of a commodity futures trading firm in connection with litigation against several clearing houses and futures and options merchants relating to over US $100 million of disputed trades on the InterContinental Exchange
- Representation of an individual in connection with an indictment of principals for a commodities and derivatives trading firm, based on an agreement to receive a portion of profits from the buyout of the company
- Representation of an executive at a prosthetic orthopedic parts manufacturer, under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice for violation of anti-kickback statute
- Representation of an executive of a major European corporation in connection with an internal investigation for potential Office of Foreign Assets Control violations
- Representation of a former controller of a hedge fund in an investigation by the Securities & Exchange Commission into fund accounting and trading issues
- Representation of a former executive of a Wall Street investment bank in connection with an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities & Exchange Commission into municipal securities issues
- Representation of client in connection with a health care fraud investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of New Jersey

Prior to joining Kobre & Kim LLP, Mr. O'Neil practiced at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he focused on complex commercial and securities litigation.
Mr. O'Neil was also the Development Director at General Growth Properties, a real estate development firm.
