Daniel L. Rashbaum is an experienced trial lawyer. Prior to joining Kobre & Kim LLP, Mr. Rashbaum served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida. His practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, regulatory enforcement and complex civil litigation matters.

Recent Engagements:

• Representation of a U.S. Department of Justice Assistant U.S. Attorney in connection with a Special Prosecutor's criminal contempt investigation
• Representation of the President of a multi-million dollar oil company in an asset forfeiture investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice for the Northern District of Illinois
• Representation of a large international religious organization in responding to an investigation into allegations of money laundering and tax offenses
• Representation of the Trustee of a revocable trust in a dispute pending in the Probate Division of the Circuit Court for Miami Dade County contesting the validity and funding of the formation instrument
• Representation of former Wachovia employees in connection with a criminal investigation out of the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida
• Representation of employees of a global pharmaceutical company in connection with a lawsuit filed by the New York Attorney General's Office and 15 additional states in connection with allegations of off-label marketing
• Representation of more than forty individuals pursuant to a U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Treasury Department investigation into violations of the Iranian sanctions regime
• Counsel to an institutional investor in relation to alleged breaches of various contracts and mobile telecommunications licensing by CompletWireless Jamaica, a mobile communications provider in Jamaica, involving more than US $30 million in controversy
• Representation of Bank of America employees in connection with a criminal investigation out of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida
• Representation of Brian Hunter, the former head of energy trading at Amaranth, a US $9 billion hedge fund, in connection with regulatory enforcement litigation against the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
• Representation of the spouse of a renowned best-selling author in a dispute involving several millions of dollars
• Representation of a financier in connection with civil litigation in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida arising from alleged breach of a joint venture agreement

Prior To Kobre & Kim LLP:

While serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mr. Rashbaum served in the U.S. Attorney's Office's Special Prosecutions Section unit where he was responsible for conducting more than 20 jury trials and handled several oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Before his time at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Rashbaum practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer, P.C focusing on white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation.
