Kobre & Kim’s “focused business model and its booming Asia practice combined for stellar growth in 2017,” reports The American Lawyer in its preliminary analysis of Am Law 200 survey data. To meet the rising demand of clients in Asia seeking specialized representation with both private and government investigations, the firm recently launched an office in Shanghai, its third location in Asia, which also serves clients seeking help responding to U.S. government investigations.

The publication reports that firm’s growth is a function of its unusual but disciplined market position, which focuses on cross-border investigations and disputes related to fraud and misconduct, and asset-tracing. “We are trying to stay very disciplined to our model, just focusing on our specialties,” firm co-founder Michael Kim said.
