Ms. Barreto offers tips for conducting an effective asset search, including backward and forward tracing. She also discusses the pros and cons of conducting an independent asset discovery versus judicial asset discovery and explores specific tools available to creditors in the U.S., including the § 1782 application and Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
